Pinning Ceremony
The graduating class of Spring 2017 will be celebrating their accomplishments at this Pinning Ceremony where they will be honored for their success. Please come out and help us make their day as special as they deserve it to be! We will be helping with set up, coordination, and handing out programs to family members. The Pinning Ceremony will be at the Tucson Convention Center and we will likely get there early at 3 to help prep everything. End of the Semester Party!
The semester is at it's end and that is worth celebrating! So come out with your family and join us for some good food, fun games, and great company! We will provide food such as hamburgers and hotdogs but please bring sides so we can get a huge variety of yummy treats going potluck style! There will be summer games/toys like water balloons and egg toss contests (all appropriately nursing themed of course!) and we are looking into getting a bouncy house for the kids. This party will be held at a park that is still to be determined. If you have any questions, our President, Kyrstyn Schuldt, will be happy to help you out!

Test Taking Skills with Sky
Sky Martin, the lead NRS104 instructor, will be hosting a workshop that teaches nursing student show to approach their tests. This seminar is for all nursing students of all semesters! Whether we are just starting the program or on our way out, test taking tips are always appreciated to help prepare us for the NCLEX!

What is it? Tucson Firefighters are hosting their 22nd annual Chili Cook-off. By volunteering we will be helping to set up equipment, provide assistance to those participating, and administer basic first aid as needed

Thursday November 9 - Leadership in Nursing Workshop and Monthly Member Meeting
Where: West Campus Room D107
When: 3pm-5pm
How to Participate: Look for a sign up link to be emailed
What is it? We will be discussing the important traits of a leader and how it pertains to nursing. it will cover topics like communication, time management, and self care. It will be an interactive workshop. It will be a SNAP officer run event. This will also be the monthly member meeting where we will talk about upcoming events, and SNAP members such as yourselves will have the opportunity to voice concerns and ask questions to the officers.

Tuesday November 14 - Therapeutic Touch Workshop lead by Jackie Kern
Where: West Campus Room D107
When: 4:30pm-6pm
How to Participate: Look for a sign up link to be emailed
What is it? Come join SNAP as Jackie puts together a presentation of a form of non-pharmacologic pain management. It uses energy and focus to help ease pain. Jackie will be demonstrating and teaching the group how to use therapeutic touch as an alternative to medication. This will be lots of fun and beneficial for all semesters to learn how to calm patients in a different way, food and drinks will be provided!!!

Where: University of Arizona Mall
When: Volunteers asked to be there around 7:30-8am

What is it? We will be volunteering in various ways, such as the kids zone, various warm beverage stations, and other oportunities needed by the organization. If you would like to volunteer, please email your name, phone number, email, and t-shirt size to Matt by November 15th. This is strictly to volunteer with the event. If you would like to walk, you will have to sign up on your own and pay the registration fee.
